In May 2021, AACRAO launched its first on-demand learning content and corresponding digital microcredentials, including FERPA Foundations, Compliance Corner, and four courses in the International Series. Designed and explicitly mapped to support members’ professional development in AACRAO’s Core Competencies and Professional Proficiencies, our on-demand courses include a final assessment, validating the learner's knowledge of the subject reflected in the awarded digital microcredential via Credly.
Over the last year, AACRAO added ten new on-demand courses, including Federal Legislative Process and Advocacy 101, Registrar’s Self-Assessment and History and Progress: 400 Years of American Higher Education, and issued 658 badges. Each course takes 60 to 90 minutes to complete and provides learners with core concepts and best practices to apply the knowledge back to their role.
In April 2022, at the AACRAO Annual Meeting, two new courses were introduced to the on-demand portfolio: Core Concepts of Strategic Enrollment Management and Transfer Articulation 101.
In May, AACRAO introduced three new courses: Registrar Foundations, Enrollment Management: Environmental Scanning, and Enrollment Managers' Role in Retention and Student Success.
AACRAO is excited to celebrate the first anniversary of the on-demand courses and badges launch. AACRAO has opened 17 on-demand courses in one year and issued over 720 badges.
