With the announcement of Mike Reilly's retirement, the AACRAO Board of Directors plans to launch the work of finding the next great Executive Director of AACRAO. In July, the Board will appoint an Executive Director Search Committee that will work with an external search firm to make recommendations to the Board of Directors. The Board is looking for two AACRAO members to serve on the search committee.

Search committee makeup and responsibilities

The Search Committee will consist of board members, AACRAO staff, an external partner, and two members from the AACRAO general membership. We anticipate the Search Committee will work from July 2020 through early 2021. The majority of the committee’s work will be done remotely. There may be up to two in-person meetings (note this is dependent on COVID-19 response) but a remote option will also be available for anyone unable to travel.

The Search Committee, in cooperation with the search firm, will be charged with the task of developing a position profile for the Executive Director, cultivating a pool of candidates and soliciting interest, collecting materials from candidates, reviewing candidates, one or two rounds of initial interviews with candidates culminating in the recommendation of a slate of candidates to the Board of Directors.

How to apply

Members who are interested should submit a statement of interest and a resume or CV including current and past AACRAO engagement. Applicants should have voting membership status with AACRAO to apply.

Applications are due June 30, 2020. Please send applications and questions to EDSearch@aacrao.org.
