Beginning on Oct. 1, 2016, students will be able to fill out the FAFSA for the 2017–18 school year. (In the past, they had to wait until January 1). In addition, applicants will no longer need to estimate income and tax information and will be able to retrieve their data directly from the IRS, right from the first day the FAFSA is available. Students also will have information about their Expected Family Contributions earlier, helping them as they’re going through the college application and selection process.

February 11, 2026

February 11, 2026 | 2:00-3:00 pm ET
As institutions struggle with reduced professional development budgets, travel restrictions, or staff turnover, many departments rely on their state and regional association to deliver free or low-cost professional development for their staff. Join a panel of five different state & regional leaders as they discuss the free or low-cost content they are offering and how they are meeting the needs of their members. State and regional leaders are encouraged to join in the discussion and share their own insights. Organization members are also welcome to join this discussion to learn how they might use their organization to increase their access to professional development.
