Beginning on Oct. 1, 2016, students will be able to fill out the FAFSA for the 2017–18 school year. (In the past, they had to wait until January 1). In addition, applicants will no longer need to estimate income and tax information and will be able to retrieve their data directly from the IRS, right from the first day the FAFSA is available. Students also will have information about their Expected Family Contributions earlier, helping them as they’re going through the college application and selection process.

January 27, 2026

January 27, 2026 | 3:00 - 4:00 pm ET

All too often, women find themselves not pursuing positions and appointments they are more than capable of filling. As women, we can often find ourselves doubting our abilities, accomplishments, and qualifications. There can be an internal fear that others will discover we are underqualified, even though our actions and records say otherwise. This is the imposter phenomenon.

Dr. Somanita Kheang, Ph.D., Ed.D., of Ball State University has completed extensive research on imposter phenomenon in adult learning experiences and in postsecondary education. Please join us as Dr. Kheang discusses how this phenomenon affects women in higher education, our choices, our advancement, and ways to combat the feelings of inadequacy women face.
