Building Articulation Agreements

Summary : Updates from the Caribbean Examination Council that may impact matriculation.
Url :

Established in 1972, the Caribbean Examinations Council® (CXC®) operates under an Agreement by the Participating Governments in the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). As an examination board, the CXC® provides the syllabi, examinations, and certificates for students and services to educational institutions in the development of syllabi, examinations, and examinations’ administration. The CXC® comprises 16 Participating Countries: Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Belize, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, and Turks and Caicos Islands.

Updates

As the pandemic drags on, AACRAO’s colleagues at the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC®) have asked us to share the news of a delay in the examinations held throughout the Caribbean. Recognizing that this delay may impact candidates who wish to matriculate at HEIs such as yours, the CXC requests and appreciates any consideration and flexibility you could provide to these candidates.

The examinations began on May 23, three weeks later than the original date. However, the Governing Board and the School Examinations Committee and Council are working to minimize the delay. They aim to have the results released by late August or early September.

Over the years, AACRAO has worked extensively with the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC®) to bring updates to our members. This relationship allows each organization to share knowledge, foster best practices, and build upon current information.

Looking forward, the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC®) would like to establish articulation agreements. If a US institution is interested in finding more information smoothing the transition for students to study in the US, please reach out to Richard Rose, Corporate Communications Manager - Office of the Registrate, Caribbean Examinations Council.
