In a statement issued on October 6, three higher education associations set forth guidelines on student transfer and the awarding of college credits.
AACRAO, together with the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the American Council on Education, base their guidelines on the “essential principle” that every college and university determines its own approach to the transfer of credit. The groups envision the guidelines as a tool to develop institutional policies with an “eye toward fairness to students.”
