Dick Hardt

A pioneer in the Internet sector and open source software community, Dick Hardt has been active in software development for nearly two decades. He is Founder and CEO of Sxip Identity, which builds Identity 2.0 infrastructure and enables Internet identities. Sxip provides on-demand identity management solutions for the enterprise and user-centric solutions that securely automate the exchange of identity data on the Web. Prior to Sxip, Hardt founded ActiveState in 1997. Under his leadership as CEO, ActiveState became a leader in tools for open source programming languages and anti-spam software, and was acquired by U.K.-based software company, Sophos, in 2003.

Richard N. Katz is Vice President of EDUCAUSE and Founding Director of ECAR, the EDUCAUSE Center for Applied Research. For ECAR, he oversees the research program and a network of alliances, partners, research fellows, contractors, and faculty grantees. He is also responsible for developing and delivering much of the association’s educational program through a variety of publications, international conferences, workshops, seminars and management institutes. Katz is also responsible for member and corporate relations, research and development, and outreach.

Bradley C. Wheeler

“Is it Time for an Open Source Student Services System?”
Dr. Bradley C. Wheeler is the Indiana University Chief Information Officer and Dean of IT for IU-Bloomington. He serves in leadership roles for over $16M of shared university investments in open source software and serves on the board of the Sakai Foundation and chairs the Kuai Project Board. As an Associate Professor of Information Systems at IU's Kelley School of Business, he teaches MBA courses in Executive Leadership of IT Strategy, and has taught e-business and e-learning courses for corporate/academic audiences in 26 countries on six continents. Wheeler is also leading a Mellon Foundation-funded evaluation of an open source student services system. |
