Eastern Connecticut State U. Suspends Coach Amid Abuse Investigation

A baseball coach at Eastern Connecticut State University was suspended over various accusations, including one that he did not follow directives from supervisors and another that he threw a helmet into the bleachers during a game. The university is also investigating accusations by parents and students that the coach, Bill Holowaty, used abusive and profane language. The investigation is expected to take three weeks. The coach had a 45-year tenure at the university, but has a history of controversial behavior. He will be paid during his suspension.
