Ashford University Gets Closer to Gaining Access to Post-9/11 GI Bill

Ashford University announced last week that it is closer to gaining access to post-9/11GI Bill benefits, reports Inside Higher Ed.

Ashford is an online university enrolling 5,000 student veterans. Last year, Iowa's state approval agency attempted to end the university's GI Bill eligibility due to the university closing its physical location.

Early last week, an Iowa court dismissed a petition from Ashford, reported Inside Higher Ed. But then the university's parent company, Bridgeport Education, said it has received approval from Arizona for Ashford to remain eligible to receive GI Bill benefits (pending approval from the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs). Meanwhile, Bridgeport will continue to seek approval in Iowa.
