Planning & Assessment in Enrollment Services: Creating Models for Continuous Improvement 

Fee: $240 

Whether one includes Admissions, Recruitment, Records, Financial Aid or other areas as part of enrollment services, having effective operations is a critical component to successful SEM work. To this end, department planning should guide both daily and long-term work. This workshop will guide participants towards a successful department planning and assessment process, including development of mission, goals, learning outcomes, and assessment tools and timelines, as well as developing action plans.

Building a SEM-Based Data and Research Portfolio: Embracing Big Data and Business Intelligence Principles

All SEM efforts need a significant amount of data and meaningful reporting. This session is designed to help enrollment professionals think through and develop a SEM-based reporting portfolio that focuses on shifting the focus from data access to building information for shared understandings. By taking a student pipeline planning approach, the workshop will discuss reporting fundamentals of data definitions, collection principles, interpretation strategies and effective distribution methods. Additional discussion topics include: planning for big data applications, structuring reports into useful presentations, using SEM plans to structure report systems, and IT data system models. Attendees should be prepared to engage in critical discussions, logic model building and best practice sharing.
