Elbert W. Ockerman State and Regional Professional Activity Award Nomination Form

Deadline for submissions: November 30, 2008

This award recognizes up to three outstanding state and regional activities, such as program sessions, projects, workshops, and publications. Each award winner will receive a registration fee waiver for the Annual Meeting and will receive a monetary prize of $500 each.

Goal/Purpose

• To recognize outstanding professional activities of the state/regional associations and encourage development and expansion of quality professional activities among state/regional associations.
• To provide state/regional associations with grants to invite expert speakers.

Benefits

Up to three awards of $500 each will be presented. The AACRAO Annual Meeting registration fee will be waived for winners in category 1 and the meeting or workshop fee will be waived for expert speakers in category 2.

Award recipients in category 1 will prepare a one-page written summary of their activities for distribution at workshop for state/regional association officers at AACRAO's Annual Meeting.

The Category 2 award will be used to subsidize transportation and housing for the guest speaker. The recipient association will receive $500. Winners will receive certificates at the Annual Meeting.

Nomination Procedure

To nominate an outstanding state or regional association professional activity (i.e., program session, project, workshop. publication) please complete the nomination form. Please complete all areas of this form, but please try to keep to the space provided. Also required with your nomination form are the following:

• Letter of support from the president of your state or regional association
• Supporting documentation (i.e., agendas, promotional materials, handout publications, summary results of session or conference evaluations)

Criteria

State/Regional associations requesting grants must have a clear and appropriate relationship to the goals of AACRAO and demonstrated impact for state/regional associations.
