About the Meeting
“Mobilizing
Intelligent Data to Better Serve Your Students”
The effective and appropriate use of technology (in its many forms) is integral to meeting our personal, departmental, and institutional goals and missions. Technology is (just) a tool—but a pervasive and powerful one. AACRAO's Technology Conference provides a forum for practitioners to share their knowledge and experience and to come away with an understanding on how to better serve students by applying I.T. to student services and systems.
Whether you use
homegrown software, vendor solutions, open/community source applications, or a
mix of all three, the Technology Conference is your leading forum to understand
the next generation of information management.
Has cloud computing
affected you? Did your department implement a sustainable “green” computing
strategy this year? Did you re-engineer a manual process using electronic
workflow? Did social networking contribute to a better and larger incoming
class? Have you deployed an effective “Dashboard” or been engaged in defining a
business intelligence environment for your institution? Do you have “mashup” on
your home page? Have you been involved with your campus identity management
implementation?
If you answered “yes”
to any of the above questions, then the AACRAO Technology Conference is your
primary resource to obtain and share the latest technology innovations needed
to develop integrated student systems and services on your campus.
Registrar Forum @ Tech
Held in conjunction with
the AACRAO Technology Conference, The Registrar Forum @ Tech is a dedicated, pre-conference
set of sessions that will be offered on Saturday (June 30) and on Sunday (July
1). The Registrar Forum @ Tech will provide an environment to discuss the
principles, issues, foundations, trends, and future directions of our
profession both enabled and bounded by information technology. The Forum will
challenge registrars to consider the principles of our work, the current
environment in which we operate (fiscal constraints, ERP administration,
pervasive network, remote services, electronic security, plethora of service
providers), the tools we use or should be using, and the opportunities (and
challenges) that technology affords.
The session content will
be sequential and continuous and will build upon previous sessions; however,
each session will have a separate topic and theme. Note that the last two
sessions of the Registrar Forum will be running concurrently with Tech
Conference break-out sessions. Attendance and participation in the Registrar
Forum @ Tech will be limited to those who register specifically for it. You may enroll in the Registrar Forum @ Tech by registering online or completing the registration form. The Registrar Forum is considered a preconference workshop, so be sure to add it to you registration under the ticketed items portion of registration.
