Information Concerning the AACRAO International Education Services (IES)

What follows is the information concerning the Foreign Credential Evaluation Service, offered by AACRAO to its member institutions, agencies, organizations, and to individuals. This form is to be used only in connection with US Military Recruiters. Evaluations are usually completed within 15 business days from receipt of a complete packet from the requestor. All of the evaluators in IES have worked for a number of years at institutions evaluating foreign educational credentials for admission purposes. The average length of previous experience is 14 years, and none have less than seven years' experience.

In order to assure consistency the evaluations of foreign credentials by the Office of International Education Services follow the placement recommendations approved by the National Council on the Evaluation of Foreign Education Credentials (CEC) when available. The Council is the only interassociational body in the U.S. specifically created to review, modify, and approve placement recommendations written for publications used by the U.S. admissions community. Our evaluations are printed on Verify First Technologies® paper in order for the user to know that they are receiving an original copy.

Procedures for Using the Foreign Credential Analysis Service

Individuals requesting that the Office of International Education Services, AACRAO, evaluate foreign educational credentials need to send the following items to AACRAO to facilitate the analysis process:

  1. A copy of the Request Form/Request Form (.pdf).

  2. Copies of all official foreign educational records (in the original language). Records not in English must be accompanied by a literal English translation.

  3. Payment of appropriate fees in US Currency by money order (no personal checks accepted) or credit card (American Express, Mastercard, Visa)

If incomplete dossiers are sent to IES, you will be informed as to what is missing and will have 120 days to provide the missing records. After that date you will be billed a $30 incomplete processing fee. Should records be received by you and forwarded after that time, you will be assessed the regular analysis fee.

All materials submitted to the International Education Services become the property of AACRAO and cannot be returned.

You will be given one original evaluation, unless additional copies are requested (see above).

Our offices are located in a building which has limited public access, open only for employees who work in the building. Therefore, we strongly suggest that you mail, fax, or use a courier service (FedEx, UPS, etc.) to send your requests to AACRAO for evaluation.
