November 8-13, 2009 in Stuttgart, Germany.

Who Should Apply

Study abroad officers, international student advisers, admissions officers, and others with responsibility for postsecondary-level exchanges. Applicants must be a member of either AACRAO or NAFSA, or both. No more than one application per institution should be submitted.

Content

A delegation of 17 AACRAO and/or NAFSA members will be invited to attend a seminar on German-American educational exchange. The seminar will focus on the German educational system, German-American academic equivalencies, and student exchange between Germany and the U.S. Lectures and discussions will be complemented by visits to secondary and tertiary educational institutions in the state of Baden-Württemberg.

Costs

On-site costs for participants (lodging, meals and transportation for excursions) will be covered by the Ministry. Participants or their institutions are responsible for the cost of transportation to and from Stuttgart, Germany.

Application and Selection Process

To fill out the online application, or to download and print out a paper application.

Complete applications must be submitted to AACRAO no later than Friday, April 3, 2009. An AACRAO/NAFSA review committee will evaluate applications in late April 2009. Finalists will be notified by AACRAO in early May 2009. Participants will be invited to attend the Baden-Württemberg Universities' reception at the NAFSA Annual Conference in Los Angeles. Ability to attend the NAFSA conference is not a condition of selection.
