Intended Audience: New to the Profession

Using the AACRAO International Guide: A Resource for International Professionals (included in workshop fee), we will introduce beginning professionals to the key aspects of international admissions. Topics will include recruitment basics, technology, inquiry and application processing, using appropriate admission criteria, English proficiency and TOEFL, and the processes involved with admitting international students — including the student visa, immigration, and evaluation of documents.

This workshop will provide participants with an overview of several NCES data sources including: College Opportunities Online (COOL), the Executive Peer Tool (ExPT), the Peer Analysis System (PAS), and the Dataset Cutting Tool (DAS). Participants will work on hands-on activities.

Registration is limited to 20 registrants. The workshop will be held off-site at Northeastern University's Snell Library. Transportation will be provided.

The State and Regional Relations Committee is planning the workshop with three primary segments: a general leadership topic relevant to all participants; break-out sessions for smaller groups by organization size or leadership roles; and discussion time.

Secured E-Transcripts: How Schools Have Automated Both the Order and Delivery Process Using XML and the Web

Using the latest developments in securing and digitally signing pdf documents, some registrars are providing official transcripts to students and third parties completely electronically, from point of order through the delivery of the finished "document."
