2 Day Intensive: International Transfer Credit Workshop

July 7 & 8, 2018

This two-day crash course is designed for individuals who work with international educational records, in admissions or study-abroad, for the possibility of transfer credit from international institutions. This workshop will focus on the determination and calculation of acceptable and applicable transfer credit from study taken outside the U.S. Participants will apply best industry practices to transfer credit from international undergraduate, graduate and short term/ exchange programs from selected top-sending countries through hands-on evaluation of authentic international records and credentials.

AACRAO institute trainings offer hands-on practical experience grounded in best-practice theory in a collaborative and engaging environment.  Attendees gain skills and knowledge that they can apply to their work immediately and access to a resource network that will be invaluable to their development.

Reservation Deposit: All reservation requests will require a valid credit card as a guarantee or a one night deposit.  For those not paying with a credit card, a personal check or a money order will be needed for the deposit.  Deposits will be refunded for rooms cancelled more than 72 hours prior to arrival.

This is a limited block of rooms and availability cannot be guaranteed.  Early reservations are recommended.

Deadline for Cancellations: 
For a full refund, reservations must be canceled three working days (72 hours) prior to your arrival, and you must obtain a cancellation number from the hotel.  If a cancellation occurs after this deadline, a processing fee of one night’s room and tax will be imposed on each reservation cancelled.

Early Departure Fee: 
In the event a guest checks out prior to the reserved check-out date, the hotel will charge an early check-out fee. To avoid the fee, advise the hotel at or before check-in of any change in departure date.

Airport Transportation: 

Light Rail: $2.25 (one way) METRO Blue Line

Travel Time: 30 minutes

Take the METRO Blue Line from the airport (Terminal 1 – Lindbergh Station or Terminal 2 – Humphrey Station) to the Nicollet Mall Station. From there, you can catch a cab, hop on the Nicollet Mall Free Ride Bus or walk eight blocks to the conference hotel.



Meet Our Presenters​

Julia Funaki received her Bachelor of Science from The Ohio State University and worked for the Columbus Council on World Affairs. She is currently the Associate Director of AACRAO International. Julia attended a graduate program at American University and worked in domestic and international admissions for the University. Upon completion of her Master’s in International Communication she took a job in the foreign student services office at Ohio Wesleyan University. After returning to Washington and completing a Master’s in International Education with an emphasis in Higher Ed Administration, Julia worked for the University of Maryland College Park in International Education Services. In 1996, Julia joined the staff at AACRAO. She has been involved with NAFSA and AACRAO as an author, presenter, and committee member and chair and serves on the faculty for the AACRAO Summer and Winter Institute.

LesLee Clauson Eicher is an Assistant Director at AACRAO International and has been working in the field of international credential evaluation for over 25 years. She has worked for both private and public universities as well as credential evaluation agencies. LesLee has contributed to various AACRAO and NAFSA international education publications, and has presented at many national and regional conferences on international education topics.
