AACRAO SPEEDE Committee Mission, Objectives, and Strategic Goals

Committee Title:  AACRAO SPEEDE Committee

Mission:  Develop, promote and maintain standards for the electronic exchange of education records, in conjunction with appropriate national standards bodies through

• Standards Development and Maintenance
• Promotion and Education
• Training and Implementation Support
• Advisory and Oversight

Vision Statement:  The AACRAO SPEEDE Committee aspires to foster and expedite the transition from paper to electronic sharing of education records in the higher education community

Objectives:  Promote knowledge through marketing, webinars, sessions and workshops at:

• the AACRAO Annual Meeting
• the AACRAO Technology Conference
• the PESC Spring Data Summit
• the PESC Fall Data Summit

Strategic Goals:

• Develop relevant sessions for the AACRAO Annual Meeting
• Develop relevant sessions and workshops for the AACRAO Technology Conference
• Promote all upcoming sessions and workshops for all AACRAO Conferences on SPEEDE-L listservs in advance of the conference to increase awareness & attendance
• Utilize the SPEEDE-L listservs and other possible means to solicit input on AACRAO SPEEDE issues, answer questions asked to the list serve population, and recruit facilitators and presenters for AACRAO SPEEDE sessions
• Participate in the development and implementation of relevant electronic data standards
• Develop and maintain the XML to EDI & EDI to XML Crosswalks Rules for approved student education standards
• Review mission, objective and strategic goals yearly
